FORRME are thrilled that our recently completed project at Enniskillen Ambulance Station won the Infrastructure Award at last week’s RICS Northern Ireland Awards! To be chosen as the winner in this hotly contested category is a tremendous accolade for FORRME & it is testament to all the hard work our team put into the construction works. Congratulations must also go to the entire project team, including Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS), Todd Architects, Doran Consulting, Beattie Flanigan Consulting Engineers & Currie & Brown.
Spread over 1,400m2, the new Enniskillen Ambulance Station provides a functional yet calming environment for staff & visitors, who are routinely subjected to traumatic experiences. Situated on the former Erne Hospital site, the facility is strategically located to serve Enniskillen & the surrounding areas within an 8 minute response target. The design of the building places emphasis on facilitating the rapid response times, whilst also integrating NIAS into the community it serves.
The RICS judges said “The new NIAS Station is ground breaking, innovative & representative of how future stations will be. A passionate Station Manager John McClintock...pointed to the dignity & pride such a built environment provides its personnel, for whom it represents its acknowledgement of their extremely harsh working conditions”.
Enniskillen Ambulance Station now goes on to complete against regional entries from across the UK at the RICS Awards Grand Final in London later this year.
