This project served as a catalyst to utilise our expertise within the commercial, education and healthcare sectors.

Constructed to BREEAM Excellent standard, the building's foundations include a mix of piles with ring beams and strip footings. The main structure is steel framed and the façade comprises a mixture of metal cladding, glass and brickwork. Facilities include welfare facilities, training and office accommodation for the 56 personnel, and a full garage, providing protection from the weather and therefore preventing icing of vehicles & potential delay of response. The station also provides storage room for equipment and consumables.

This was a brownfield site, so there were always going to be ‘unknowns’ beneath the ground. On commencement of the works, we uncovered large quantities of previously unknown buried concrete. We were able to demolish this whilst progressing the rest of the site works, mitigating programme delay on the project.
